Children with special needs deserve nothing but the very best, and at SULAM LI, a religious school for Jewish children with developmental disabilities, they receive it. Small classes meet on Sunday mornings from 10am-noon, led by highly trained special educators who use specialized curriculum to meet each student’s needs. Socialization is emphasized, and parent support groups are also available. SULAM is a collaboration of the following synagogues: Congregation Sons of Israel, Hewlett-Rockaway Jewish Centre, Reconstructionist Congregation Beth Emeth, Temple Beth-El of Cedarhurst, Temple Hillel, Temple Israel of Lawrence and Temple Sinai of Long Island in cooperation with the Board of Jewish Education, FEGS and the NCJW-Peninsula Section.
